Alasdair & Julianna star in THE DEVIL’S THIEF – on sale now + 5 print copy giveaway!

Hello, my name is Mr. Alasdair Sharp. I have the dubious honor of being the hero in Samantha Kane’s newest historical romance, The Devil’s Thief. It’s an amusing tale about a dastardly thief who stole my family’s famous heirloom, The Stewart Pearl. A perfect pearl, by the way, the largest ever farmed from the River Tay in Scotland, and once the property of my infamous ancestor, Bonnie Prince Charlie.

“Alasdair, who are you talking to?” Julianna peered to the right and then the left. “There’s no one here but you and I.”

“Au contraire, my dear.” Alasdair bowed “The readers are here.”

“Readers of what? Honestly, Alasdair, have you been into the sherry?”

“I have not. Readers of our sordid tale, of course. The story of how you stole my pearl.”

“I’m sure I don’t know what you’re talking about.” Julianna inspected her nails innocently. “You gave me the pearl. And I am not dastardly.”

“I did not. You stole it. In a dastardly fashion.”

“Then you gave it to me.”

“It was more a…metaphorical giving.”

“There was nothing metaphorical about it.” Julianna glared at him. “We made a bargain. I certainly lived up to my end of it.”

“Yes, you did. I readily admit I lied. I never intended to keep my end of the bargain. And you knew it. You took advantage of me.” Alasdair glared back at her, nose to nose.

“I cannot believe you have the nerve to admit what a dastardly scoundrel you are.” Julianna took a deep, calming breath. “But I suppose I should have expected it, you being a Devil and all.”

“Exactly.” Alasdair smirked with satisfaction.

“Which makes it entirely implausible that an innocent, such as I was, could take advantage of an admitted rake.” Julianna smirked back.

“It’s my pearl.”

“Au contraire, it’s mine.” Julianna turned to leave the room.

“We could make another bargain.”
At Alasdair’s suggestion, Julianna stopped and peered over her shoulder, still smirking. “Perhaps. But I think we’ve shared enough with the readers today.”

“Oh, right.” Alasdair smiled charmingly. “Good day, readers. Enjoy The Devil’s Thief.”
