What I love most about Adams Grove is the easygoing nature of the people and the town. I can see every business that lines Main Street clear as day. I know how the aroma from the bear claws that Mac bakes each morning fill the block every single morning, and the scent of thick sausage gravy from the diner, too. Even on the greyest of days the flowers that fill the planter boxes along Main Street bring joy with their bright colors, and I like that.
I didn’t envision a series. I wrote Sweet Tea and Secrets as a small town love story set in a fictional town. It was originally titled Pearls of Wisdom, after the matriarch of the town Pearl Clemmons. I got feedback that the title was too inspirational so I took it to my facebook friends for a brainstorming session and collided two pretty good titles into one great one. I love the title Sweet Tea and Secrets. It’s perfect! The thought of a series didn’t happen until after I’d finished that book. I loved the town that I’d built so much that I wanted to go back there…and so I did. Five times now and I’m not ready to leave. There will be at least one more novel set in Adams Grove. The next one bridges from a short story that I’m re-releasing for Valentine’s Day. If you want to meet the hero now, rather than later, look for Wrapped Around Your Heart in the next few days. I promise you Derek’s whole story early next year and I can easily be persuaded to take y’all back there with me for more like for Sheriff Scott Calvin’s story.
What can readers expect for the Adams Grove Series? More of the same. Sweet stories about love, hope, people coming together, and real friendships that last.
Welcome to Adams Grove…where wrongs are righted with just desserts.
Luck abandoned Brooke Justice during her nasty divorce. Desperate to escape her malicious ex-husband, she relocated to the small town of Adams Grove, Virginia. When someone breaks into her new house, she suspects her ex bears the blame for the crime. With no evidence and little help from the police, she asks a private investigator to take her case—a private investigator whose sexy broad shoulders and stunning blue eyes make her question her decision to swear off relationships forever.
Mike Hartman fled Adams Grove when a devastating loss left his heart in pieces. After years overseas in the military, he’s finally returned home, determined to start anew as a private investigator. Then Brooke walks into his office, awakening something he hasn’t felt in years. Can they both move on…into each other’s arms? Or will the pain of the past—and the dangerous threat lurking in the present—destroy their new beginning?
