Book Review: Shredded (Extreme Risk #1) by Tracy Wolff

Shredded – I had a lot of different endings in my head whilst I was reading this book, none of them came anywhere close. Bloody hell, talk about coming out of left field.

Z is the stereotypical bad boy, love me and leave me, a different woman every night, and more often than not he can’t even remember their names. For most of the book his past is just hinted at, whatever it was has left him deeply broken and with a bit of a death wish, it makes him fearless, or reckless, depending on how you look at it.

Ophelia is fragile, her past is much more recent, and she’s feeling a lot of guilt as well. The worst thing she could do is get involved with Z.

Of course, you know what that means!

The course of true love never runs smooth, and it’s the case in this book as well. There’s lots of oohs and ahhs, you’re holding your breath to see what will go wrong next. Between a jealous friend, a stupid bet, a lecherous colleague and horrible pasts it’s pretty much a doomed relationship from the start.

This was a really enjoyable read, I had a sense of foreboding for at least three quarters of the book, but that just gave it that added spice.

I’m not sure I’m happy about the ending, but it did leave me with an open mouth and stunned expression.

I’ll definitely be keeping an eye out for the next book in this series.

(5 Stars – Helen)
