Sidney is a new Loveswept author writing a new hot fighter series beginning with AGAINST THE CAGE – Let’s give her a warm R@R welcome!
I’m a mom of three (a 5 year old and twin 2 year olds), suffice it to say– I AM BUSY. I also work full-time as an attorney (I know, kinda boring). Oh, and of course, I’m a wife. My favorite thing to do other than spend time with my children and husband is to read. I love reading. Sometimes, I read a book a day.
In my fantasy world (my brain), I live in Colorado (instead of Miami, Florida) next door to Kristen Ashley and every morning we drink coffee as we stare out into the mountains and talk about her Colorado Mountain Man series. I adore Kristen Ashley’s books and have read them all, and then re-read them. I love contemporary romance in general. I am currently devouring Toni Aleo’s Assassin’s series and I am loving it. For some odd reason, I have a thing for cowboy romances. Not sure why since Miami couldn’t be any less Cowboy, but any contemporary romance in which the main guy is wearing a cowboy hat, I’ve probably read. My love of reading began with Sidney Sheldon. I read each and every one of his books as a teenager and then again recently as an adult. But, my favorite book of all time without question is Pride and Prejudice and I will try and read it once a year and every time I read it I sigh out loud when Mr. Darcy comes back. *sigh*
Right now, I am wrapping up Full Contact. It’s the second book of the Worth the Fight Series, and I am so excited for everyone to meet Slade Martin. If possible, this second book may be even steamier than Against the Cage (expected to be released May 2014). I hope everyone loves Against the Cage as much as I enjoyed writing it. I try to make my novels somewhat light and funny, even though the context may be a little gritty at times.
I think what makes WtF Series special are all the characters, especially the secondary characters that you’ll continue to see throughout the series. It’s based in the small town of Tarpon Springs, Florida where everyone grew up together and knows each other. The main characters are the men of Worth the Fight Academy, a Mixed Martial Arts training gym, owned by Slade. The men are all are rough and tough alpha males until they fall in love.
Then, they are putty in their women’s hands.
I hope readers find Against the Cage and the rest of the series, sexy, with just the right amount of angst, mixed in with some humor. If I had to compare my books to another author or series of books, I would say they are in the same vein as Jill Shalvis’s Lucky Harbor Series or possibly Jaci Burton’s Play by Play series (disclaimer: I find both Ms. Shalvis and Ms. Burton to be fabulous authors to which I one day aspire to become and I compare my books to theirs with the utmost respect).
About AGAINST THE CAGE:
In her Loveswept debut, Sidney Halston turns up the heat as a sexy cage fighter shows a former bookworm how delicious a few rounds between the sheets can be.
For Chrissy Martin, returning to her Florida hometown always seems to bring bad luck. The day starts with a breakup text, followed by a jailhouse phone call from her troublemaker brother. Now a routine traffic stop has ended with her accidentally punching an officer . . . in a delicate place. Then Chrissy realizes that the hot cop on the receiving end of her right hook is none other than the man from her teenage fantasies.
Jack Daniels knows how to take a hit. After all, when he’s not chasing reckless drivers, he’s kicking ass in a mixed martial arts ring. So what takes his breath away isn’t the low blow, but the woman who dealt it: a gorgeous knockout with legs Jack wouldn’t mind being pinned under—who just so happens to be his best friend’s nerdy little sister, all grown up. Soon their instant chemistry leads to a sizzling affair, but Jack and Chrissy are fighting an uphill battle if they want to make love last beyond the final bell.
About the Author:
Sidney Halston lives her life by one simple rule: “The secret of getting ahead is getting started” (Mark Twain). Or even simpler: “Just do it” (Nike). And that’s exactly what she did. At the age of thirty, having never written anything other than a legal brief, she picked up a pen for the first time to pursue her dream of becoming an author. That first stroke sealed the deal, and she fell in love with writing. Halston lives in South Florida with her husband and children.
