“Emotionally gripping with characters you won’t soon forget, Shredded will grab your attention and keep it throughout and leave you eagerly anticipating the next book.” ~ Slick, Guilty Pleasures

One of my very favorite websites reviewed hot New Adult author Tracy Wolff and her book Shredded – on sale now. Enjoy!

I’ll let you’ll in on a little secret, I’m not much of a sports enthusiast in fact baseball is pretty much the only sport I watch regularly however, I love the X-Games especially the snowboarding. So, Shredded by author Tracy Wolff had me on subject matter alone. I will warn you this is a new adult book told from the POV of the hero and heroine. This story is filled with drama, some angst, and a whole lot of self hating and self doubt. It’s a heavy book and deals with some pretty tough subjects , it will get your adrenaline pumping, and satisfy your need for some hot sex, but it’s also about hope and learning to deal with the things life throws at you. A little word of warning about that, this couple’s story ends on a high note, but the author sets the next book in motion with a blow to the solar plexus. I can’t call it a cliffhanger because it doesn’t have to do with this couple, but it does have to do with one of the key players in this story. So, keep that in mind when you read it.

Z is without a doubt a spoiled rich kid living the life most 21 year olds dream of living. Snowboarding, getting high, drinking and women fill his days and nights but it’s an empty life and one filled with pain. His friends Ash, Luc, and Cam are there for him and have repeatedly pulled him back from the edge many times but Z will the first to admit that his personal safety means nothing to him. A trust fund baby with snowboarding endorsements out the ass, Z has no real responsibilities other than to just be.

The last thing Ophelia wants or needs is another adrenaline junkie man in her life so when Z comes on strong, she puts him in his place time and time again. What she hates to admit is that she enjoys the sparing, the verbal warfare, and yes the attention he gives her. Not without issues of her own, she decides the best way to get him out of her life is to just give in and sleep with him because she knows his reputation and she figures once they’ve done the deed he’ll move on to new pastures.

These are some truly messed up young people and at times I wondered if them being together was good for either one of them. Somehow though, they recognized the pain and the hurt in each other and seemed to be able to give each other what they needed even when they didn’t know it’s what they wanted. I enjoyed the time they spent together just enjoying life something I don’t think either one had really done in a while. At times they were so carefree and other times their pain and sadness broke my heart.

One thing I love about this author’s work is her ability to write a great ensemble cast and she’s done it again in this book. While they don’t overshadow the main story they are great back up characters and we see enough of them to know we want to see them again. While I was a little unhappy at the “teaser” at the end of this book that sets up the next one, it won’t stop me from reading it.

Emotionally gripping with characters you won’t soon forget, Shredded will grab your attention and keep it throughout and leave you eagerly anticipating the next book.
