I first read this story as an e-serial a few months ago, and now it’s available for the first time in print. As someone who prefers a great book to watching TV, reading Deceptive Innocence was the experience I wanted to have watching Revenge. The set-up is similar, but the heroine is far more relatable and the eroticism drives the story more than the mechanics of retribution. Below is a conversation we had with author Kyra Davis when the e-serial launched in February. LB: I love this story! It’s one of those books that make me think damn, I wish I wrote this. What gave you the idea for this revenge story/ star-crossed passion? KD: Wow, what a compliment, thank you! As for what gave me the idea…well, I’ve never really been into… Continue
In the third installment of this e-serial, Bell’s quest for revenge is complicated with the interference of her Russian Mafia “godfather,” Micah. (If you recall, Micah and his henchmen kidnapped Bell at the end of the last novella). He knows that she’s up to something with the Gables, and he doesn’t want it interfering with his financial investment with the family. Bell knows that this is a serious wrinkle in her plan: “Micah will make sure that I don’t temper with his interests. If that means he has to kill me, that will happen.” The only reason he’s not getting involved now is because he told her mother that he would look out for her. Bell is more frightened than she’s been since the night her mother was taken from her. Her impulse is to… Continue

This month brings a real-life love story, hotties on ice, scorching revenge sex, and a search-and-rescue team that makes me want to lose myself. Melting the Ice by Jaci Burton (Berkley Sensation, Feb 4) Any story involving a budding fashion designer and a hockey player has my name written all over it. It seems that Carolina had a thing for Drew back in college, but for him it was just “another slap shot.” Something tells me the tables are about to turn. Getting ready to read and find out. Romance is My Day Job: A Memoir of Finding Love at Last by Patience Bloom (Penguin Group, February 6) Patience Bloom has been a romance editor at Harlequin for sixteen years. But for most of that time, her own love life couldn’t fill a cocktail napkin,… Continue
If you haven’t gotten hooked yet on this erotic, revenge-based e-serial by Kyra Davis, author of Just One Night, now’s the time to dive in. Kyra will be with us next week discussing the new Pure Sin trilogy, which began last week with Deceptive Innocence, Part 1. Each installment is novella length, so even during a busy weekend it’s a perfect two-day read: A beautiful young woman is out for revenge—only to find the man she’s targeting has secrets as dangerous as her own, and a passion she cannot resist. Ever since her mother died while serving time for a murder she didn’t commit, Bell’s been focused on one thing: revenge.
