ARROW’S HELL by Chantal Fernando

"Chantal Fernando has outdone herself with this installment of the Wind Dragons MC Series. ARROW'S HELL was just as good as the first book if not better; I think I need to find a motorcycle club to join and find me a man, that's how great this story was."

Q&A: Lauren Blakely’s Forbidden Fruit

Lauren Blakely joins us today to give the inside scoop about putting her own spin on New Adult, why the forbidden appeals to her, and more about how her stories are so darkly alluring.

Nice Guys Don’t Always Finish Last

"I was never really into the bad-boy. I’ve always preferred the nice guy. The one I could bring home to meet my parents. The one who is mature and stable and sweet and puts me first. That’s the kind of man I not only found for myself more than thirteen years ago, but he’s also the kind of guy I want to read about when I pick up a nice romance..."

BREAKING NOAH by Missy Johnson and Ashley Suzanne

"BREAKING NOAH starts as a slow burn, but when things start to heat up, they get explosive in a hurry. The resulting story is one of finding love amidst loss and taking chances to pursue passion, with a heaping helping of intrigue. Fans of angsty New Adult fiction with heat will love this one."

BROKEN JULIET by Leisa Reyven

"This series is perfection, absolute perfection. Now beauty is in the eye of the beholder and all that, and I know not everyone loves angst or bad-boy thespians, but I freaking loved it. Most times the sequel isn’t half as good as the first book, but BROKEN JULIET is spectacular. It manages to bring in new storylines while keeping the same feel of the last book. It feels fresh yet familiar – the perfect continuation of an amazing story..."

JUST A LITTLE FLIRT by Renita Pizzitola

Saying yes has always come easy for Fallon. Now, as Renita Pizzitola’s steamy, poignant Crush series continues, winning her dream job means saying no to the guy she wants the most.

REBOUND by Noelle August

Boomerang was one of my favorite feel-good romances of 2014. I couldn't wait to get my hands on REBOUND! I loved this book! Rebound was a sexy, romantic, tension-filled, happy romance (all the things!!) that left me smiling at the end. Veronica Rossi and Lorin Oberweger are such a great writing duo. I hope they keep working together because they are making me a very happy reader. They are taking the new adult genre to a wonderful place.

FALLING AWAY by Penelope Douglas

Penelope Douglas’ books are never what I imagine. I go in with a preconceived notion of how the characters are going to act but they end up completely obliterating what I though I knew. And you know what? I freaking love it.

Best of the Year 2014

Each week the ladies of Book Love Between the Sheets have been stopping by to review books, recap TV shows, and share their love of all things romance. Today, they pick the books that stood our from the pack and made their lists of best of the year.
Bad Romeo

BAD ROMEO by Leisa Rayven

"I want to live inside this book. I want to peel back the pages, climb inside and snuggle in its angsty goodness. This book is my Kryptonite. It has everything I love: Shakespeare, angst, humor, a slow build up, explosive chemistry, and the ending, oh lord, the ending! That ending was pure perfection."

My Heroes: Writing What I Know

As a romance reader, I love all kinds of heroes—from totally caveman alpha to sweet, geeky beta. I fall for them all. As a writer, I tend to write a slight mixture of heroes, except for the extreme alpha. I don’t think I’ve done one of those yet. What has inspired me as an author when I develop my heroes is looking at guys I know.

FORGIVE ME (Lost Souls #1) By Eliza Freed

In the cult classic film Dazed and Confused, Mathew McConaughey’s character says, “That’s what I love about these high school girls, man. I get older, they stay the same age…” Now, change that to “college boys” and that sums up my thoughts on this book. The beauty of book boyfriends is that it’s not at all creepy to lust after someone twenty years younger. See, I have entered a new era of my life, one in which I have officially reached cougar status…that said, I love Jason Leer. But first, let’s talk about Charlotte. Charlotte is a student at Rutgers University, majoring in business. She has loving parents and a supportive older brother. She’s back in her hometown over the summer break, and walking home alone one stormy night, wearing sexy, strappy sandals making… Continue

Talking FEVER PITCH with Heidi Cullinen

Heidi’s latest book, Fever Pitch, is the second book in her New Adult “Love Lessons” series.  I loved the first book—a romance between an outgoing senior and an introvert with severe allergies who end up rooming together—so I asked her five questions about this one. But first, the blurb: Aaron Seavers is a pathetic mess, and he knows it. He lives in terror of incurring his father’s wrath and disappointing his mother, and he can’t stop dithering about where to go to college—with fall term only weeks away. Ditched by a friend at a miserable summer farewell party, all he can do is get drunk in the laundry room and regret he was ever born. Until a geeky-cute classmate lifts his spirits, leaving him confident of two things: his sexual orientation, and where he’s headed to school. Giles Mulder can’t wait to get the Continue

BROKEN by Lauren Layne

I’m a huge fan of Lauren Layne because she shines in writing witty, chemistry-laden romances guaranteed to tug at your heart!  I loved the first in this series, Isn’t She Lovely, so I was thrilled to have Olivia’s story. Even though she was technically the cheating girlfriend (not as bad as it sounds, I promise) I felt bad for her. Olivia is trying to escape and redeem herself for a mistake that cost her longtime boyfriend. Taking a job as a caretaker for an injured veteran satisfies her need for penance and to get away from all her friends, but Olivia doesn’t really know what she’s gotten herself into. Thinking she’ll be caring for an old injured man, she’s shocked when she finds out that she’s the paid companion to a hostile man just… Continue

How I Found My Perfect Hero

I love a suited-up billionaire as much as the next gal. But for my first New Adult novel, RUIN ME, I was inspired by the idea of a different type of hero. And he’s based on some real life men (and women)  who are doing thrilling things every night in the streets of cities around the world: street artists. About a year ago, I watched a documentary called Exit Through the Gift Shop about a mysterious British artist named Banksy. He became famous by painting the sides of buildings under the cover of night, producing beautiful art that was meant to provoke and inspire. He ultimately went on to create sculpture installations, and sneaking his artwork onto the walls of major museums. Most of what he did was illegal, but his artwork has become so… Continue

Teaser and Cover Reveal – BROKEN by Lauren Layne

If you have ever, EVER wondered what my perfect preference of storyline would be . . . here it is:
A girl with secrets —- a guy with scars — and a love that could save or destroy them both. One word: Intense. And, a fabulous cover at that!! Happy Romance! ** Teaser Reveal!** Olivia squirms. “Why are you looking at me like that?” “I’ve never known a female to acquiesce that easily without a catch. How about you hit me with it now and get it over with?” Olivia shrugs. “Fine. I was going to say that I won’t run alone, if you promise to go with me.” “No,” I say, almost before she’s finished her sentence. “Why not?” I rap my cane once against the ground. “Well, for starters, despite the fact that… Continue

Winners Announced! Happy Release Day to Me and THIRD DEGREE + Giveaway!

I’m so thrilled that Third Degree is finally releasing today and I’m also very excited to present this excerpt from the book. I hope you enjoy it!
Here’s the set up – since these aren’t the opening pages, I’ll give you a bit of backstory to set up the scene, though it’s not hard to follow along. This scene is the first meeting of my two main characters, Isabel and Marshall (aka Izzy and Marsh). Izzy has recently gotten some very bad news—she’s been rejected for medical residency programs because she failed her emotional readiness test. She’s decided, after a therapist and her boss suggest that her failure might be due to a “lack of normal teenage experiences,” to enroll as a college freshman all over again, but this time at an average university and… Continue
