When it’s cold outside and the days are short, it’s the time of year I like to escape into other worlds and mystical beings. For as long as I can remember I have been fascinated by anything paranormal. I first discovered paranormal romances as a teenager as a way to escape. So today, I’m sharing some of my all-time favorites.
When I got to the last page of THE RAVEN before Christmas, I wondered just how I was going to be able to pull together a review to properly explain just how wonderful this book was. Even now, I’m not sure I could put words into print to do it any justice. It was, in a word, magnificent.
While reading a Jeaniene Frost novel, I have to prepare the space around me to ensure I have the optimal experience. Note: Do I have my tissues? Check. Is there plenty of chocolate for my sudden hormonal cravings generated by intense action scenes that leave my heart beating outside my chest? Check.
To put it simply, Burned is an adventure from the beginning to the end. Moning delivers an on-the-edge-of-your-seat story with her signature finesse. Enthralling, powerful, and downright sexy, Burned is everything you’ve been aching for and more.
To help you get ready for BURNED, I’ve put together a Fever Series primer for you. Since each book is extremely layered and detailed I couldn't get every aspect into this primer but hopefully this will help either refresh your memory or encourage you to start the series. Enjoy!
THE PRINCE, a novella by Sylvain Reynard, is a prequel to THE RAVEN, the first full-length novel in his new Florentine series. I find the term “novella” to be too dull and lifeless to describe THE PRINCE. I believe the word “prelude” would be much more appropriate because it effectively expresses the beauty and lyrical prose of this short work.
The Dallas SWAT team is hiding one helluva secret . . . they're a pack of wolf shifters. The team of elite sharpshooters is ultra-secretive—and also the darlings of Dallas. This doesn't sit well with investigative journalist Mackenzie Stone. They must be hiding something . . . and she's determined to find out what. Keeping Mac at a distance proves impossible for SWAT team commander Gage Dixon. She's smart, sexy, and makes him feel alive for the first time in years. But she's getting dangerously close to the truth—and perilously close to his heart.
Ella Frank is the author of nine self published books that run the full gamut of romance genres. I’ve read everything Ella’s written and I’ve never been disappointed. In fact, I’m usually rendered speechless. Her latest release TEMPERANCE (The Arcanian Chronicles #1) is a step into the world of fantasy and paranormal. The world building in this tale is extraordinary and you’ll feel instantly engulfed in the twists of the plot as they surround you. The ever-busy Ella was able to juggle her schedule of book releases and a very recent family move to take some time and sit down for a little interview with us.
It’s a great week for contemporaries with new offerings from Chelsey Krause and Diana Gardin. Politics heat up on Emma Barry’s latest, and Season Vining will have your heart pounding with suspense and lust in her new novel. For short and steamy, check out Rachel Kramer Bussel’s latest anthology.
Morgan Stills is a woman without a future. At least, that’s what the carnival psychic tells her. Love is foretold as well, but too bad. She’s already been marked for death. She no sooner flees the psychic’s tent when she’s confronted by the biggest wolf she’s ever seen. A wolf that talks to her—right before she’s enveloped in a black cloak and dragged away.
Fifteen books ago, Kerrelyn Sparks had me at hello with this series. Any author that kicks off a series with an ancient vampire breaking off a fang biting into a blow up sex doll, only to fall in love with a dentist who faints at the sight of blood, is an author I need to read and possibly become best friends with! CROUCHING TIGER, FORBIDDEN VAMPIRE ties up this wonderful series with the correct amount of emotion and humor we’ve grown to love and expect from Kerrelyn Sparks.
"I first stumbled on Rhyannon Byrd a few years back when I picked up Last Wolf Standing and I have been hooked on this series ever since."
They say you form your personality, likes and dislikes, and the rules you live by early in life. I think that’s true—even for what appeals when it comes to heroes.
"Thinking about writing for Romance at Random, I couldn’t help but think how random romance really is. I mean, did you end up with the person you thought you would? I most certainly didn’t."
Oh, how I love Larissa Ione. Her books are a thrill ride and her unlikely heroes always leave a lasting impression. Revenant is no different. As the final book in the Lords of Deliverance/Demonica series, I think the author definitely saved the best for last, because Revenant is mad and he wants everyone to know it.

Outback Ghost (Bunyip Bay #3) by Rachael Johns Outback Ghost was an incredible finish to the Bunyip Bay trilogy. Author Rachael Johns has given us one of the most perfectly romantic tales I have read in a long, long time. It’s difficult to put into words all the reasons why I fell in love with this story, but I’ll give it a whirl. It mostly centers around the main characters Stella, Adam, and Heidi, of course. The way Ms. Johns was able to communicate the absolute devotion… Continue
