REVENANT by Larissa Ione

Oh, how I love Larissa Ione. Her books are a thrill ride and her unlikely heroes always leave a lasting impression. Revenant is no different. As the final book in the Lords of Deliverance/Demonica series, I think the author definitely saved the best for last, because Revenant is mad and he wants everyone to know it.

PLAY ME Series by Tracy Wolff

Anytime I find a series that takes place in Las Vegas, I pick it up to see what sins are better left in Vegas. But this serial is a bit different. The characters aren’t visitors to Vegas; instead they’re residents who know the seedier side of Vegas and how that seedier side can ruin a person.

THE EVER AFTER OF ELLA AND MICHA by Jessica Sorensen

I remember when I met Ella and Micha back in The Secret of Ella and Micha. Ella was a messed up kid who didn’t know how to deal with the grief and guilt she felt because of her mother’s death and Micha was her best friend, helping her to not drown. I had to wonder then if this couple would ever get their happily ever after. Lucky for us, Jessica Sorensen gave us their very special ever after.

HE’S NO PRINCE CHARMING by Elle Daniels

A wounded beast, a spirited beauty and a passion that will consume them both....Elle Daniels uses the Beauty and the Beast tale as one of the threads in the story of her new novel, He's No Prince Charming.
DirtyRowdyThing

DIRTY ROWDY THING by Christina Lauren

There is a certain “dirtiness” to the male characters in a Christina Lauren book and I always look forward to seeing just which level of dirtiness the new male lead will have.  Let’s just say, I was definitely not disappointed in Finn Rogers and his expertise with rope.  Well…he is a fisherman after all. Dirty Rowdy Thing brings us the story of Finn Rogers and Harlow Vega.  They met in Vegas, were married for twelve hours, and now find themselves part of this dual trio of best friends.  Finn is the rugged outdoorsman who is often quiet and takes on a heavy burden for his family.  But there is just something about him and Harlow that has him letting go, being more himself.  And that version of Finn is a very dirty, very sexual man. … Continue

ONE IN A MILLION by Jill Shalvis

Jill Shalvis has done it again. The Lucky Harbor series has been a favorite of mine since Jax came strutting onto the first page.  After twelve books, the residents of Lucky Harbor worked their way into my heart so it was bittersweet reading One in a Million knowing this was going to be the last one. Luckily for us, this book goes out with a bang. I really enjoyed the premise of this story. Callie, a virtual wedding planner, doesn’t believe in love, but she’s willing to sell it and her relationship advice on her web site tyingtheknot.com.  But Callie really is a closet romantic who had her dreams destroyed when she was left at the altar. Figuring it was safer to say she didn’t believe in love any more than to put herself out there, she lived a pretty… Continue

Everyone loves Jack Holland, but Emmaline Neal needs him. Her ex-fiancé is getting married in Malibu and, obviously, she can’t go to the wedding alone. In Manningsport, New York, tall, blond and gorgeous Jack Holland is practically a cottage industry when it comes to rescuing desperate women. He knows the drill, Em figures, so he won’t get the wrong idea.  What Jack needs is an excuse to leave town. Ever since rescuing four teenagers from a car wreck, he’s been hailed as a hero and the attention is making him itchy, especially since his too-pretty ex-wife is back, angling for a reunion. He’s always liked Emmaline. She needs a weekend date? No problem. So when they wind up in bed together, Em chalks it up to red wine and chocolate cake, just one impulsive night Continue

IGNITED by J. Kenner

IGNITED is the third book in the Marked Men series, about a three powerful men, known as the Knights, and the women that manage to do what no other could.  This last book focuses on Cole, artist, Dom, and a man who still flirts with the wrong side of the law and his obsession with Kat. I did not read the first two books in the series, but it didn’t matter: The author does a great job of ensuring readers understand the underlying current of want between Cole and Kat. Both have been somewhat obsessed with the other, but reluctant to do anything with their feelings. Kat, because she feared a dynamic shift in their little group; Cole, because he wasn’t sure Kat was accepting of his needs as a Dom. They get over their… Continue

THE BEST KIND OF TROUBLE by Lauren Dane

Natalie Clayton was one of those characters who is difficult to like. She has built a very protective shell around herself, and is often times standoffish with people, making it hard to connect with her.  She is only open and completely herself around her small group of college friends; once you see her in that element, you want her to be like that all the time because she is clearly a very warm, caring person. Once we got her back-story, it’s understandable why she protects herself.  So when her long ago, two-week teenage romance, Paddy Hurley, walks into her favorite bakery, it’s clear that life as Natalie knows it is going to change…big time. There wasn’t much I didn’t like about Paddy. He’s hot, sexy, dirty, sweet and cuddly.  Paddy goes after what he wants… Continue

Becca Thorpe has uprooted her life and escaped to the beach. Now’s her chance to get away from city living, throw caution to the ocean winds, and live in the moment. Especially if the moment includes the deliciously sexy surfer she meets shortly after arriving in Lucky Harbor. Something about the dark intensity of Sam’s eyes and the thrill she gets at his touch convinces her to stay awhile. Boat builder and investment genius Sam Brody is a self-made man who knows how dangerous it can be to mix business and pleasure. But he can’t resist offering Becca a job just to hear her laugh and have her near. Yet when her brother comes to town asking for help, will he tempt her back to her glamorous life in the city? UNBROKEN by Maisey Yates

In Unbroken, Cade Mitchell, former Rodeo star, finally finds a purpose in life after an accident forces him to retire. And while he leans on his best friend, Amber Johnson, to help him realize his dream, he discovers that the love of a good woman can heal all sorts of wounds. Amber and Cade are best friends and have been for a long time.  I was a bit skeptical on how the friends to lovers storyline was going to work.  But I was pleased with how Maisey Yates developed their story. There has always been a deep love between the two, but it took a rouse to ward off a potential threat to Amber’s family ranch to discover the love they share was so much more than they imagined. Amber was a tough character… Continue

Stylist Jessica Champlin knows it takes more than a darling goldendoodle to save a marriage.
