"My apologies to Kyler and Ella, but Kenzie and Porter in TAMED are my new favorite couple in Stacey Kennedy’s Club Sin series, and it’s all because of Kenzie."

Also reading, Yours Truly, as I celebrate the print release of my latest single-title historical romance, Claimed By The Rogue. For now, sit back and savor what Sofia, Marissa, Eliza, and Julia have to say to my Same Five Questions...

THE PRINCE, a novella by Sylvain Reynard, is a prequel to THE RAVEN, the first full-length novel in his new Florentine series. I find the term “novella” to be too dull and lifeless to describe THE PRINCE. I believe the word “prelude” would be much more appropriate because it effectively expresses the beauty and lyrical prose of this short work.

New Year’s brings a lot of things: Time with family. Hangovers. Resolutions. For book lovers, a new year means a fresh TBR. Today, our bloggers share the books they are putting on the top of their lists.
Thanks to Colette Auclair’s BRANDED, the third book in her Aspen Valley series, I now have a new Alpha hero to add to my Book Boyfriend list. Jack Cormier is a former pro baseball player from New Orleans with a Cajun accent as smooth as bourbon who sings Engelbert Humperdinck in the shower. The opening chapter when he meets the heroine, Cordelia “Cordy” Sims, has got to be the best “meet cute” situation I’ve read in a long time involving a ski lift and a martini shaker. Still reeling from a broken relationship, Cordy is hired by an Aspen ad agency as a freelance consultant to help a local resort rework its image. After they meet, Cordy and Jack decide to spend the weekend together to explore their mutual attraction for one another with no… Continue
It’s the last month of the year, and it seems our favorite authors are indeed saving the best for last! We have the second installment of Davison & Allegra by Sofia Tate, a return to the Barnes brothers by Shiloh Walker, the latest in the Ella and Mischa saga by Jessica Sorenson, the first in a new series by Monica Murphy, and more.
The Billionaire Boys Club has returned, and it’s time for Jonathan Lyons to get his HEA in Romancing The Billionaire. He’s the head of his family’s automobile company, Lyons Motors, who in his spare time loves adventure and extreme sports. But these are all fillers to distract him from missing the one woman he ever loved, Violet DeWitt. The daughter of famed archeologist Dr. Phineas DeWitt, Violet is a schoolteacher and leads a quiet life, and she’d like to keep it that way. But with the death of her estranged father, Jonathan reenters her life, bringing back feelings that she had suppressed long ago. At the age of nineteen, she and Jonathan met on an excavation of her father’s in Greece where they instantly connected and fell in love. But when the unexpected occurs… Continue
All hail the return of The Tribe! With ECHOES OF SCOTLAND STREET, the fifth installment in the On Dublin Street series by Samantha Young, the loving family of characters that she has created is back, and this time, it’s time for Cole Walker’s story to be told. At the age of fifteen, Cole had a brief encounter with a petite redhead outside her grandmother’s house in Edinburgh. They bonded over a favorite rock band, and a spark was ignited between them (this meet cute is actually referred to in one of the previous ODS books-Ms. Young, you are so sneaky!). But it won’t be until nine years later when Cole meets the mystery girl again. Shannon MacLeod is the new receptionist at INKarnate, the tattoo studio where Cole is the manager and tattoo artist in… Continue
This week brings the third book in Cecilia Tan’s Struck by Lightening series. In SLOW SATISFACTION, James has finally pushed Karina beyond her limit—not her limit for kinky sex play, but for his extreme secrecy. She has had enough and breaks things off. But James won’t give up on Karina and will do whatever it takes to get her back. He’s ready to share his deepest, darkest secrets, but is Karina ready to hear them? James offers Karina not only the truth but a place at his side… onstage. He wants Karina to star in his final musical production and enter his life and his world fully and completely. As the two work together, they rekindle the trust and love they’d lost. But James’s world is full of deceit. When he is blackmailed by an unscrupulous… Continue
The term “erotic romance” perfectly encapsulates what it contains-a blend of compelling story with very sensual, hot sex scenes. As engaging as the story is in LONGING, the second installment in Jamie K. Schmidt’s Club Inferno series, I have to admit that I couldn’t wait to get to the sex scenes, especially when the heroine, Anya Litton, says things like this when talking about her boyfriend, Clint Reyes, a Dom and a stripper: “Let’s see…I could give up amazing sex with a hot Dominant stripper sex god who worships me and wants me in his life for a rich Italian count who dumped me because his mommy told him to. Decisions, decisions. Money doesn’t mean sh*t. I’m staying with Clint.” Anya is an actress and aspiring fashion designer who’s always been attracted to Clint when… Continue
Tell us about your journey to being published with Forever Romance. LR: Last June, my agent and I brainstormed projects. I made an off-the-cuff reference about how my exchange semester to Australia changed my life (and yielded me a husband). I was surprised there weren’t many study abroad stories in New Adult. She went quiet for a second and said, “Go play with that idea.” I got to work, sent her three chapters and a synopsis. Here’s a rough transcript of our next conversation. Agent: Lia, I couldn’t sleep last night because of this book. Me: Woo hoo! Wait, did it give you nightmares? Agent: No, no. I loved it! But I don’t know what to do with you. Me: I don’t know what to do with me either. I kept writing the book while… Continue
Since Fifty Shades of Gray exploded a couple of years ago, the erotic genre has been saturated by kinky billionaires who have a particular taste for virginal subs. I could only read so many versions of this trope before it started to get monotonous. I became wary of the bored Alphas and their surprisingly skilled virgin consorts. Some of these novels read like borderline porn; I’m one of those snobbish readers who believe that erotica, like nude paintings, is art. It should go beyond sex and, to paraphrase author Kyra Davis, each sexual encounter should be a revelation of some sort. Not just sex for sex. So after wading through some sub-par erotica, one of my favorite smexy paranormal writers, Stacey Kennedy, started the Club Sin series. And because I’m a loyalist, I said I’d… Continue
Sofia Tate joins us today to talk about her Forever Yours debut, BREATHLESS FOR HIM. (If that cover doesn’t grab you, I don’t know what will.)The story: As a gifted opera singer, Allegra Orsini’s only obsession is music-until she meets him. A strikingly handsome and powerful man with a life splashed across the tabloids, Davison Cabot Berkeley isn’t what she expected. He’s unlike the other wealthy patrons who dine at Le Bistro. Davison sees more than just a coat-check girl working her way through grad school. And from the moment he looks at her, those deep green eyes ignite a fire inside Allegra she’s never felt before. She craves Davison’s touch-his possession-endlessly. Even though every fiber of her being is telling her to stay away, that it’s best for both of them, she can’t. As his … Continue
I’ve been a fan of Samantha Young’s On Dublin Street series since the first book, ON DUBLIN STREET, which introduced the first couple in the series, Joss and Braden, who later received their own novella, CASTLE HILL. They were followed by Jo and Cam, Ellie and Adam, and Liv and Nate, each with their own story (DOWN LONDON ROAD, UNTIL FOUNTAIN BRIDGE, and BEFORE JAMAICA LANE, respectively). Returning to this series always gives me a feeling of catching up with old friends. Young brings a combination of humor, compassion, and drama to her writing, along with the hot sex scenes that unfailingly make my toes curl. But with each new installment, as much as I love returning to these characters, another emotion takes over as well—the sense of trepidation. Will this one be as good… Continue
