My Romance Shelves

I’ve been a romance reader since I was a kid. I’m not sure if I should give Anne McCaffrey credit for introducing me to romance in the Pern series or if the credit should go to my grandmother who got me reading Danielle Steel (who I recognize is not romance pure). But the romance genre is so vast and so varied, there really is room under the big tent for everyone and that’s one of the things I love about it.

My Keeper Shelves

I’d actually stopped reading romance for a while several years ago and I have no idea why. I was able to read a ton while I was deployed to Iraq back in 09 and the romance community was so incredibly supportive. Words cannot describe how awesome it was to open a fresh box of books every few weeks.

Nora Roberts Three Sister trilogy was the series that launched me into reading romance again. I don’t honestly know why I’d stopped but for some reason, I had. After picking up Nell’s story, I just kept devouring them.

Laura Kinsale is also on my keeper shelf. I’ve still got my Laura’s from when I was in high school, complete with Fabio covers. I also read a ton of Johanna Lindsey when I was younger. Loved Warriors Woman and wished I still had my bright pink copy (yes w/ Fabio yet again).

Nalini Singh’s Guild Hunter series is by far my favorite paranormal series. I’m rereading Jason’s story in Archangel’s Storm right now. I love, love, love JK Beck’s Shadow Keepers stories. I got to beta read them before they hit the shelves and getting to see how a book went from idea to book was hugely awesome.

Books I’m looking forward to.

This fall has a whole bunch of books I’m really looking forward to. Shawntelle Madison’s Kept has already been preordered since I first finished Coveted. I can’t wait to see how the story started in Coveted is going to turn out! And I’m really looking forward to my friend Jax Garren’s debut How Beauty Met the Beast. Fellow Loveswept star Ruthie Knox has a Christmas anthology coming out this holiday season and I’m really looking forward it along with Molly O’Keefe & Stefanie Sloane’s stories.
